Tyrone Grandstrand serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Stride Development, leveraging his extensive 15 years of experience and passion for accessible housing solutions. As a former City Council Member for the City of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Tyrone spearheaded initiatives such as the establishment of a community land trust (CLT) in collaboration with the local housing authority. This endeavor facilitated successful partnerships with HUD and other organizations, empowering low- and moderate-income individuals to become homeowners.
Development Director
Joseph Frewer leads development at Stride, drawing from his extensive 9 years of experience in affordable and supportive housing projects. Previously, he served as the Real Estate Development Director at Project Renewal and as the Director of Property Development at the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) in New York City. Joseph has overseen construction and rehabilitation projects from inception to completion, specializing in tax credit projects and joint ventures.
Acquisitions Manager
Safia Gelle is an acquisitions manager at Stride with a background in housing policy advocacy and finance. She has worked in both the public and private sectors, including roles in Congress focusing on housing policy and at Morgan Stanley. Safia’s expertise lies in identifying and securing strategic opportunities to increase affordable housing availability.
Grants & Compliance Officer
Cathy McGath, a founder at Stride Development, brings a diverse skill set to the team. With 6 years of experience in grants management, regulatory compliance, and curriculum development, Cathy has played integral roles at organizations such as the Henry Street Settlement and the Muslim Community Network. Her meticulous approach ensures that Stride’s projects meet all necessary standards and requirements.
Media & PR Strategist Director
Jason Nguyễn is Stride’s media and PR strategist, combining his background in mindfulness philosophy with expertise in economics and hospitality management. With 18 years of experience teaching mindfulness courses and organizing applied ethics philosophy events, Jason brings a unique perspective to Stride’s communication efforts. He excels in crafting engaging narratives and fostering meaningful partnerships.
